- persica. Myrmecocystus frigidus var. persica Emery, 1906d: 50 (in text, attributed to Mayr), fig. 7 (w.) IRAN.
- Type-material: syntype workers (number not stated).
- Type-localities: Iran (“Persia”): Fars Prov., Shiraz (no collector’s name).
- Type-depository: NHMW.
- Combination in Cataglyphis: Emery, 1925b: 264.
- Subspecies of frigida: Emery, 1925b: 264; Santschi, 1929b: 57 (in key); Agosti, 1990b: 1482; Bolton, 1995b: 136; Paknia, et al. 2008: 154.
- Distribution: Iran.
Taxonomic Notes
Pashaei Rad et al., (2018): Cataglyphis frigidus (André, 1881). Type location Syria, CASENT0102117 (probably a media worker). Cataglyphis persicus minor matches type. Prior Iran records in Paknia et al. (2008). The majors of Paknia ZMGU1419 (held by Brian Taylor) and Torabi 12 are identical, minors of both match the persicus type.
